When someone wants to log in the data has to travel to the switch: ask the switch whether it’s allowed to go through to the sensor and ask if that username and password is valid on that computer: the data travels back to the desktop computer it comes from; if their login is valid it allows them in, if not they have to put their login in again.

The data only have 1 link to travel on so it forms traffic in other words. It’s like a tram going up a road and it collides with the tram going down the road. There’s only one railway so they collide which can make their computer load very sslllowwllyyy!
