EYFS have explored what it feels like to be left out using the story ‘Strictly No Elephants’ by Lisa Mantchev.
We sequenced the story and wrote simple sentences.
We created club houses (big and small) in the class room and thought up names for them. The children invited their friends to their club house by making some fabulous elephant invitations.
They wrote about the amazing characteristics of individual friends.
We even drew round some of them!
The staff are so proud of the children’s understanding of what it means to be a good friend and can see how they are putting what they are learning into practice by supporting one another.
They have continued to demonstrate their understanding of numbers between 10 and 20 using 10 frames for support and even remembered to look after their sunflowers, Well done for another great week EYC and EYP!
