Last week Year 2 used all their knowledge about ideal minibeast habitats to create their own bug hotels. First, with the help of our parents, we collected a range of materials such as dry leaves and grass, stones, sticks and pinecones etc. Then we arranged them carefully to create different “rooms” in our hotel which we hoped would attracted different types of minibeasts. By the end of the afternoon we had built a marvellous bug hotel which we will observe over time. As you can see, a snail has already moved in!
Happy bug hotels
