Healthy eating art

posted in: Year 2 News 0

In science we are learning about healthy eating so in art we decided to paint our own pictures of a plate of apples.

First we took a photo of a plate of apples from an aerial perspective, then we used paper plates to trace a circle for the plate. Next we drew the apples on the plate free hand. We had to make sure to focus on the correct use of space by positioning the plate and apples in the right place. Once we had completed our contour drawings (the outline of the plate and apples) we used paints to colour in the apples, and background. After the paint has dried, we used charcoal to carefully add in details by observing the variations in colour and light which we could see in the photograph. We hope you like our finished still life paintings.
