What is it and how does it work?

The Reading Challenge is a fun way of discovering new books, and earning prizes for every 10 books you read!

Each year group has a list of 30 books. There are a variety of genres and text types on the list, including comic books, picture books, non-fiction, poetry and longer novels – so there’s something for everyone! You can read the books in any order, and take as long as you like with each book. Each time you read one of the books, ask your parent and teacher to sign off the entry on the list. Once you have read 10 books from the list, and they have been signed off, you should bring the list to Miss Pape (Deputy Headteacher) or a Y6 librarian, and you will be awarded a Bronze badge. Upon reading another 10 books, you will receive your Silver badge, and finally upon completion of the list, a Gold badge!

Why do we have a Reading Challenge?

We know you enjoy the books in our lovely library and Book Nooks. We think the Reading Challenge is a fun way to enjoy books that you may not have considered before. We hope you enjoy them!  If you have any suggestions for Reading Challenge books for next year, please let us know!
