Marvellous Maps

Year 2 has become the home of cartography over the last week. Having been studying the story of Where the Wild Things are this term, we had began to wonder how Max could have travelled to a mysterious far away land without leaving his bedroom. So, we decided to try our hand at map making to see if this could shed any light on the mystery. We sharpened our pencils and got to work on a key. Once we had our map symbols sorted, we set about drawing our map. Once finished, we traced Max’s route onto our maps and wrote instructions using key words such as North and South to help us. We’ll get back to you once we’ve sussed out how a forest began to grow in Max’s room.
