The Pupil Premium Grant is allocated by the Government to schools to address the underlying inequalities between children eligible for or have been registered for free school meals at any point over the last six years, and their peers who are not.

Schools also receive funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, children who have been adopted from care or who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order, and children of service personnel.
Schools have the freedom to decide how best to spend the Pupil Premium Funding, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual children within their responsibility. Phil & Jim Primary School is committed to ensuring that all pupils are given every opportunity to fulfill their learning potential. This includes pupils who require support to make progress and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.
