China Wow Day

On Wednesday 12th September, we held our first Wow day of this academic year to introduce our new topic – China.

 

Key Stage One

In Year 1 and 2, the children took part in a range of different activities. They made tinfoil Terracotta Warriors, lanterns, fans and willow plates.

Orya and Soyoon asked some of the children what they enjoyed the most. This is what they said:

“I liked the lanterns.” – Ana

“I liked making everything.” – Noel

“I liked making the terracotta warriors.” – Adhil

“I liked making the lanterns.” – Amelie

“I liked that I got to do lots of things.” – Jamie

“My favourite bit was making the fans.” – Alice

 

Lower Key Stage Two

In Year 3 and 4, the children were visited by Joanna who showed them lots of different Chinese musical instruments. She told them about each instruments and then showed them how it was played.

 

Upper Key Stage Two

In Year 5 and 6, the children took part in a carousel of activities – tai chi, printing terracotta warriors, the great technology debate and calligraphy. Everyone had great fun!
