As part of our science topic this term, we conducted an experiment to show how food travels through the digestive system. We used crackers and bananas to represent the food we eat. Then, we added water like the saliva and orange juice to re-enact the acid in the stomach. We enjoyed this messy process as we had to demonstrate how all these ingredients travelled through the small intestines (tights) and the large intestines (cup).
