To mark the ending of their time at Phil & Jim, Year 6 went on a short pilgrimage through Oxford, past St Margaret’s, the old Phil & Jim school and church, St Giles’, the war memorial, and to Christchurch Cathedral where we were shown around. The Year 6s had time to think about their hopes and dreams for the future, reflect on how they feel about moving to secondary school and decide whether there was anything that they wanted to leave behind. They also learnt about the history of Oxford and of Frideswide, brilliantly acting out the story of the Saint in the cathedral. We enjoyed a picnic lunch before heading back to Phil & Jim to enjoy a treat from St Margaret’s church. Thank you very much to Eva, Daniel and the staff at Christchurch Cathedral for organising and facilitating this event – we really enjoyed it!
