OPAL
We are an OPAL school, which means that we are deeply invested in providing our children with opportunities for high quality outdoor play and learning. We work in partnership with the OPAL not-for-profit company to create great playtimes. We have invested heavily in time, resource and developing our outside spaces to make them interesting, stimulating, accessible and most importantly fun for all of our pupils, by giving them a diverse array of types of play which they can partake of during playtimes.
We have created the folllowing roles dedicated to play, populated from different members of our school community: curricular lead for play (Rob Miles, deputy headteacher); play coordinator (Luke Prew, after school clubs manager); play team (the teaching assistants); play detectives (pupil leadership group) play governor (Susie Bagnell) and PTA play representative. We are immensely grateful to all involved in dedicating their time, energy and resources to our play provision, but particularly the members of our Parent-Teacher Association for their generosity in enabling us to create such an exciting play area for our pupils.
