At Ss Philip and James, we recognise that every child is made up of body, mind and spirit, and we are committed to supporting our pupils to develop into citizens who contribute positively to their community. Whilst striving to equip pupils with essential academic skills and knowledge, we also seek to help them develop their understanding of who they are and their inner voice – the thoughts, beliefs and values that shape their words, actions, attitudes and character. We nurture these in the children through opportunities for creativity, curiosity, deep critical thinking about important questions, positive interactions with others, and by flexing the muscles of our school values of love, compassion and community. By developing these qualities, our pupils are guided by their moral compass to journey well through life and grow into the best version of themselves, helping us to become a school community that gives back to others and enabling all to live life to its fullest.
